Henry Townshend wakes one morning to find himself trapped in his apartment: chains on his front door bar the exit, none of his neighbors can hear his cries from help and a mysterious hole appears in a wall in his bathroom. After several days, the hole grows larger and Henry – running out of options and desperate to leave – decides to take his chances and escape through it. The hole inexplicably becomes a tunnel and once on the other side, Henry finds himself an unwilling explorer through a series of supernatural worlds and eventually becomes embroiled in a conflict with an undead serial killer from Silent Hill with plans to kill Henry, and his pretty, next-door neighbor.

Silent Hill 4: The Room is the fourth installment in the core Silent Hill series and was released in 2004 for the Sony Playstation 2, Xbox and PC. Unlike the previous three installments, the main character, Henry, never actually sets foot in the iconic town of Silent Hill. It is Henry’s adversary, the ever-present serial killer, which provides the link to Silent Hill’s perverted legacy while Henry explores, instead, a series of locations connected his adversary’s life, the lives of his victims, and Henry’s own apartment.
