Hi my name is Whitney and as I'm sure you can tell by my website I'm a huge Silent Hill fan.

Currently I'm 27 and I work and reside in the San Francisco Bay Area as a graphic designer for a technology company. I like to play video games, read American and Japanese comics, and I watch movies and anime in my spare time.

I've been playing videogames since I was four years old and my first gaming experience was on the Atari 2600 owned by my older brother and sister. My favorite game on that system was Kangaroo.

Over the years I've enjoyed playing games on my brother's later consoles (NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Nintendo 64 and Playstation) but I didn't own my own system until Christmas 1998 when I received a Playstation 1 from my parents. Since then I've played and owned videogames on the Playstation, Playstation 2, Game Cube, Playstation Portable and Xbox 360. Currently my favorite types of games are survival horror and RPGs because of the movie/book like plots and interesting characters. My favorite video game series are Silent Hill (of course), Resident Evil/Biohazard and Final Fantasy.

When people find out I play survival horror I'm always asked if I get scared or I'm told _blank game_ would really freak me out. Now I admit get startled playing some games (especially by dogs jumping through windows) but I never found a game that freaked me out so much that I had to stop playing due to nerves or being frightened. I know it seems silly but the only game I can remember actually frightening me was ET on the Atari 2600. I can't remember exactly why I was so scared of it (and no it wasn't because it was a craptacular game)...but I think I thought the game music, sounds and game animations were creepy when I was four. I wouldn't even go near the TV if it was on!

Silent Hill first caught my attention when I saw a creepy screenshot of Harry near the bloody alley with a dead dog (see screenshot above). This screenshot was featured in an upcoming video games article in (I think) in my brother's PSM or EGM magazines in 1998. Around that time I was a full fledged Resident Evil series fan and the magazine article described Silent Hill as a "Resident Evil clone" so it was a give in I would give it a try. After my first play through of Silent Hill in 1999 I was so enthralled by the creepy atmosphere, music, and puzzling plot I couldn't see Silent Hill as a merly a Resident Evil clone I saw it as something even better! Silent Hill quickly became one of my most treasured and favorite games.

Even though I was a big fan and bought and played the games as they came out I didn't start seriously collecting Silent Hill merchandise until around 2004. It was around this time that I relized more items were available for the games besides the games and soundtracks. So far I have accumulated over 50+ Silent Hill related items and I'm still looking for more!
